We insure what we care for, not because we expect something to go wrong but to be prepared if something does go wrong. The same thing applies to income, as a member of an a-kassa you can get up to 80 percent of your salary if you become unemployed.
About Lärarnas a-kassa
Lärarnas a-kassa is not an unemployment insurance fund for everyone, it’s an unemployment insurance fund for those working in education. We specialise in teachers and schools, which means that we have the knowledge and experience necessary to give you as member the best help and support possible.
If you work as a teacher, guidance counsellor, principal or with education you are welcome to join Lärarnas a-kassa. You are also eligible to join if you study to become a teacher, are self employed in a company operating in the field of education or if you are a church musician.

Switch to us
We can help you with the transfer so that the duration of membership from your former unemployment fund is accounted for when switching to us. Continue to pay you membership fee from your old a-kassa until the transfer is completed.
The membership fee is 140 kronor per month
Being a member of Lärarnas a-kassa costs 140 kronor per month. The fee is the same for all our members, regardless of income, if you are a student or if you are on parental leave. Our membership fee is low compared to other unemployment insurance funds in Sweden.
You are also eligible for a tax reduction on the fee, which effectively means that you only pay just a little bit more than 100 kronor per month.
Payment
You can pay the fee with autogiro, e-invoice or regular invoice. If you have chosen to receive a regular invoice but have a digital mail inbox you will receive your invoice in Kivra.

The unemployment insurance fund is one of the most important insurances you can get. Join Lärarnas a-kassa to insure your income for 140 kronor per month.
Extra income insurance
If you are a member of the union, for example Sveriges Lärare or Sveriges Skolledare, you can get an extra compensation per month. With the extra income insurance, you can get a compensation of 80 percent of your former income up to 100 000 kronor per month.
